I believe that everyone loves shopping. Some people do it for fun or for being fashionable. I do like shopping too since it helps me to relax and get rid of thoughts about my study. As I am here in the US, I found it tough to go shopping for following reason. I don't have a car to cover long distances since many good malls are too far from my place of living like Burton Creek Shopping Mall. In fact, it takes a lot of time for the two-ways trip. This forced me to think of alternative ways of buying things that I liked. Soon, I made up with the notion to buy things online. Before this step I had been a bit unexperienced and skeptical about shopping online, because I had believed it is not as good as shopping in a real life. Then, I asked my friends about some websites which are designed for prospective clients such as ebay, amazon and craiglist, and I was surpised by wide range of products that I was able to buy there. Of course, these websites have different functions: either people can bet and then win products for the price you put, or just buy products. Moreover, customers always have a choice between new and used items depending on their budget. The frist thing I bought through the Internet was a study book. It was cheaper than in a bookstore, yet it didn't take a lot of time to recieve the book. After that I really loved it, so I started to buy other things comparing them with the same things in ordinary stores. Consequently, I saved a lot of money which made me really happy. Some people are concerned about the security of their credit card information, and they are afraid of shopiing online. In this case, I think that all transaction are protected if one uses appropriate tools and services. I can advise to use PayPal. One of the best way to protect money. All in all, I am happy to purchase necessary products online so far and I definately will do it in a future. Do you want to try it if you haven't had such experience before?

Why American university?

A majority of all new students around the world want to acquire a high-quality education. They look for appropriate majors and universities for them. Sometimes, it is difficult to find universities which are able to respond to students’ requirements. The United States is a place which can offer people a good education with a variety of choices in programs supported by the Association of American Universities. According to Wikipedia “The Association of American Universities (AAU) is an organization of leading research universities devoted to maintaining a strong system of academic research and education. Besides, there are basic causes of choosing universities in the United States such us experienced teachers, modern technology and facilities.

One of the main factors of choosing university in the United States is top teachers. Every instructor in these universities not only has earned either a master's or doctorate degree, he or she is also a top-level, working professional in curtain field. Hence, students have great opportunity to gain a lot of essential information in needed field for them. Moreover, they can became good professional and get a perspective job in future. This factor leads to high-quality education.

Another cause of choosing to attend a university in the United States is an access to modern technology. The American universities have strong partnerships with business and industry; as a consequence, they have cutting-edge equipment that is used by students in the classroom. For instance, employers want job candidates who have experience with the equipment being used by industry, including the most modern computers and scientific instruments. Students who used such technology in their study carrier have much more chances to get a job rather than others who did not. This factor leads to high-quality education as well.

Facilities are also important cause. All types of facilities are created for student’s comfort; they also provide assistance in their study. For example, libraries in American universities have a lot of study materials which are helpful. Furthermore, there are computers there with access to the global net in order to find necessary information. Another facility where students can dedicate their free time is student recreation centre supporting students’ health and physical conditions.

All these causes form people’s decision to choose universities in the United States since they have a lot of advantages. They play an important role in acquiring high-quality education. American universities are kind of a strong bridge to successful future.

How it was

When I made a decision to go to USA, I was kind of confused about my future there. Even though I read a lot of information about this country, I felt fear in regard to new environment, people, culture etc. I also asked some advice from people who were there, and they explained me bit by bit what I can do or not. All of these really helped me to built a picture about the USA, and I somehow tried to overcome all my concerns.

The first destination was Tempe, Arizona where I was supposed to start my English course in order to suceed then in a academic career. The flight to this city was a bit challenging since I spent almost 24 hours in air and terminals. I stopped off two times in Amsterdam and then in Minneapolis. During this travel I was excited experiencing or even anticipating new stage in my life. I felt like I was in a different world where people wore diffirent clothes, and the colours of this world seemed to me bright and cheerful. Additionally, I met other Kazakhs who were on the way to USA as well. Who could guess that our fates would interlace one day and we would became good friends? We tried to help and be next to each other sharing our first impressions and ideas.

As soon as we arrived to Tempe, we were met by representative of AECP (American English and Culture Program) and other Kazakhs who studied in ASU (Arizona State University). There where about 20 guys with Kazakh flag and other symbols. The bus and refreshments were provided, so I was surprised and at the same time pleased with their warm greeting. After that we had a wonderful dinner together and an interesting talk on various topics. Actually, I did not expect to see so many Kazakhs in one place in Tempe. In common the were approximately 60 Kazakhs in ASU who got on with each other.

Next seven months I dedicated myself to learn English deeply. I learned a lot of things that were extremely helpful specifically in writing and speaking. I became more confident in having conversations and just in making friends among Americans. So I gradually overcame what I was afraid of. Then, I broadened out my horizons. I visited California and Hawaii, but all of them are another part of my experience in the USA.

Now, I am in Austin, Texas which is also one of the best place I ever visited with a lot of course Kazakhs. I really glad that my life is getting full of positive feelings and new friends from different corners of the world. I believe that I will keep in touch with them, and we together will remember our invaluable experience in the United States.

First Experience

When I at the first time came to the United States in 2009, I noticed something interesting that really surprised me. It was the nutrition information or facts about particular food product listing all its ingredients that were included in it. Whether ingredients were healthy or not, all of them were there usually on the back side of the wrap. I tried to ask myself why this information is approachable almost everywhere on every single food product. For example, in my home country Kazakhstan it is too difficult to find such sort of information on products. Yet, I had never thought about it. Then, I gradually realized the main reason why these nutrition facts are on the food products. Maybe because of health care issues, the government of the US enforced all food companies working in the US to provide credible nutrition information about food products to their customers. As a matter of fact, it is good way to make people aware about the quality of the food; they always have an option what to buy pertaining to the nutrition facts and somehow taking care of their health. Nice idea, isn't it?
